Soon, soon, soon...

In five weeks the adventure begins - on 9/2 I fly off to Paris to begin a trip that I have waited 35 years to take, a great, Grand Tour of Europe. The itinerary is still taking shape, but it will begin in Paris, head for Scotland and then for the next 66 days Lynn and I will be on the train throughout Britain and much of Europe until mid November when we will finally be able to stop for a couple of weeks in Greece. Perhaps Istanbul lies at the end; a fitting place to aim for. This blog will (I hope) be a daily (or nearly so) record of the trip. I hope to be able to post pictures along with the narrative - I've never been good at keeping a diary but perhaps this will be a new inspiration. Stay tuned - 9/2 will be here very, very quickly!
